Our Story

Jessie

I was born and raised here, and served my community for many years as a Medical First Responder. I've seen first hand the damage that mismanaged health and toxic environments can have on people, families, and entire communities. I awoke one morning from an inspiring dream of being a beekeeper and feeling that it was a calling to do such, I began pursuing knowledge and information on the topic. From there we began our apiary with our first hive, and we have been moving forward ever since.

Aside from my years of medical service, I have also spent the vast majority of my free time learning about nature and homeopathic remedies and care, and how we each can live in harmony with the natural forces around us rather than at odds or conflict with them. I bring my decades of study and service into this work and with a passion to help improve my community, our community, and a keen eye for detail, you can expect only the best products and services from our beloved apiary.

Susan

Born in New Zealand and raised on a dairy farm I have always been exposed to a certain level of how the farming industry runs. While bee keeping is relatively new to me, I am learning all the time and not afraid to work hard. New Zealand has a very prevalent bee keeping industry--from larger corporations to back yard bee keepers--of which Mauka honey is the biggest market. I grew up enjoying good quality honey, and after moving to the States I discovered the beauty of local beekeeping! I personally enjoy good quality natural products, and everything I do with Alchembee stems back to the same quality I personally love and respect.
